From bespoke beginnings in China to a new chapter in the UK, Meili brings more than a decade of personal design experience to M&T Jewelry.
Her story, in her words ↓IN HER OWN WORDS
My fascination with pearl design and aesthetics began in childhood. I have always been drawn to the way a pearl catches the light, how colours sit together and how a piece of jewellery changes when it is worn.
Long before it became my work, beauty was something I loved to explore.
More than a decade ago, I left a stable job, invited two close friends to join me and founded M&T Jewelry.
I have led the brand from our first pearl-market stall through WeChat-based selling and livestreaming. Together, we built our love of jewellery into a business of our own.
We began with bespoke jewellery. One client, one conversation, one piece at a time.
Over the years, I have listened to women describe their tastes, their daily lives and their unexpected ideas. Each conversation has become part of the way I think about design.
DESIGN IDEAS, HELD IN MEMORY
Today, more than a thousand designs and styling ideas live in my mind. They have grown from years of choosing pearls, considering colour and proportion, and listening to the person who will wear the finished piece.
I want each woman to recognise something of herself in what she wears — her own taste, her own presence, her own way of being beautiful.
M&T JEWELRY · THE NEW CHAPTER
Now, we are preparing to begin M&T Jewelry’s next chapter in the United Kingdom. I want to bring the judgement, care and confidence we have built with our clients in China to women discovering us for the first time.
For me, this is the next step in a story that began with a love of pearls. I look forward to the new conversations, new ideas and new friendships it will bring.
